This study assessed the benefits and challenges of ICT in the Nigerian broadcasting sector. The data for this study was sourced secondarily from existing relevant literatures. The Diffusion of Innovation Theory was reviewed as the theoretical framework. The findings of this study revealed that ICT has been widely implemented in various broadcasting organisations across Nigeria such as AIT, NTA, Channels TV, Radio Nigeria, Cool FM, and Raypower FM. The benefits of ICTs in Nigeria brodacsting were found to include breaking time and distance barriers, improved output quality, digital access to information, instant feedbacks, and online cinemas. High cost of ICTs equipment acquisition and maintenance, the inability of the staff to perfectly handle the technological gadgets and power failure are the notable challenges facing these media organisations from fully adopting ICTs in their operations. This paper then implored the management of radio and television stations in Nigeria to set aside funds for provision of alternative electricity supply; organise workshops and trainings for their employees to effectively make use of the ICT resources towards achieving organisational goals.
